Consider dining out at…
1. Cravings
Modelled after the founder’s dreamy home-town square in Germany, Cravings Market and Restaurant offers a unique dining concept. Here, you can speak directly to their chefs to craft your perfect meal. Their innovative credit card system takes the hassle out of splitting the bill making it great for larger groups. Located in the charming neighborhood of Inglewood, the market’s farm-fresh feel is sure to draw you in for a treat.
2. Notable
The passionate team at Notable will have you well taken care of from the second you step through their door. With an ambiance as curated as their menu, the dining experience is sure to please. We love their NOtaBLE Burger which comes with pork Calabrese and cheese curds, a caramelized onion bun, and house-cut fries. It’s well worth a visit, after just one bite we think you’ll agree.
3. Rocky Mountain Flatbread Co.
Committed to sustainability, the Flatbread Co. has been invested in growing and eating locally since its inception in 2004. Their award-winning artisanal pizzas and pasta sure hit the spot after a day of skiing, hiking, and adventuring outdoors. With locations in Calgary, Canmore, and Banff this has become a favourite stop on our drives out to the mountains. It’s the food you can feel good about, and that’s something we can definitely get behind.
4. Teatro
Look no further for contemporary Mediterranean cuisine that is sure to impress. Featuring tenderloin, ribeye, and short rib straight from the wood fire, Teatro’s curated seasonal menus are a delight. Every dish is thoughtfully crafted in Italian tradition with a modern flair. It only takes one look at their fabulous offerings to see that they are passionate about what they do. Feeling adventurous? Give their octopus dish a try! From handmade pasta to decadent Italian desserts, there’s something for everyone at your table when you dine with Teatro.
5. The River Cafe
This iconic local restaurant has been delighting its visitors since 1991. Built into the Calgary urban park Prince’s Island, The River Café has truly made the most of its stunning location to bring you elevated riverside dining with fresh local fare from producers who are dedicated to sustainable practices. Supplying the kitchen in part from their very own in-house edible garden, The River Café leads by example in its commitment to bringing you the finest bounty of ingredients nature has to offer. This restaurant is just as beautiful inside as it is outside. With natural elements such as their fieldstone fireplace and landscaped outdoor terrace The River Café bring the outdoors indoors.
6. Joey
Featuring vegetarian-friendly, vegan options, and gluten-free options, this family favourite spot can accommodate a wide range of tastes and needs. Our personal favourites are the Teriyaki Chicken Rice Bowl and the Herb Crush Salmon. For dessert, you can’t go wrong with their Molten Chocolate Cake with fresh raspberries and Tahitian vanilla ice cream – yum! It’ll take just one look at their cocktail menu to seal the deal. Fancy a Spicy Passionfruit Margarita? How about a Jungle Bird with Appleton estate signature blend rum? Drinks at 7? See you there!
7. The Nash
Located inside the historic National Hotel in Calgary’s Inglewood district, the building’s colourful history and lively atmosphere make the perfect setting to enjoy The Nash’s great food and outstanding service. Get yourself started with a wood-fire grilled bread and garlic confit – we love to get it with whipped feta, chive and toasted pistachio. Take in the restaurant’s modern interior and bright sunlit atmosphere while you enjoy your meal, letting your thoughts wander into the 1900s when the hotel first opened as a district tavern.
8. Deane House
Deane House’s atmosphere feels welcoming with cozy interiors and a beautiful garden that decorates the outside during the summer months. Be sure to leave room for dessert as their menu features a number of decadent treats. Hazelnut panna cotta, dark chocolate cheesecake, pumpkin and treacle pudding, and chocolate pot de crème await you! Wholesome organic produce and the finest natural ingredients make the cuisine stand out in a deliciously memorable way.
